Human Resource Manager - WB Melback Corporation, Haileybury, ON

About This Career Opportunity:
WB Melback Corporation is a progressive company currently seeking to hire an experienced professional with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to fill the role as Human Resources Manager. As a key member of the HR Team, this position will support the Human Resources requirements of the company, while contributing as part of the management team to the overall operations of the agency. Responsibilities:

  • Support operational leadership with employee relations matters by advising on best practices to achieve positive results through creating, maintaining, and communicating various company programs
  • Take a lead role in strengthening the company culture
  • Develop, maintain, and implement a policy framework and HR strategies that are aligned with the company's business model
  • Manage employee relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work environment
  • Human Resource Development including staff training
  • Liaise proactively with unions and participate on the negotiating team for collective agreement renewals
  • Maintain compliance with relevant labour and health and safety regulations
  • Support talent acquisition by participating in planning sessions and interviews for key roles as needed
  • Assist the Safety Manager in the investigation of workplace injuries and illnesses and provide recommendations to improve safety
  • Some travel may be required with this position


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) would be considered an asset
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a human resource management position working in a unionized environment
  • Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse team setting
  • Experience with Bamboo HR Software, Indeed and Microsoft Office Suite considered an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the organization
